The block function on Substack is too much
If you block someone, you prevent him from seeing your future posts. Not only do you block his access to the comments section of your posts, he won’t be able to see them anymore. You prevent him from ever reading or seeing anything you write in the future. Because you were once an asshole, you will never read anything from me ever again; you will not even see what I post. This is really what block does. This is the behaviour that is possible on this platform. Isn’t this a bit excessive?
It’s enough if he can’t comment on your posts. What harm can he do if he sees them and cannot interact with them?
How effective is this behaviour at fostering interaction, and is this the best way to increase the chance of changing someone’s mind?

Okay, I'm here from Google results because I'm so confused. Some people say that someone who's blocked can still view everything you post, but can't interact with you, but your post says the opposite. Which one is true?
I'm here to find out about blocking because someone blocked me. I highlighted the fact they were talking nonsense by drawing their attention to their unsubstantiated generalisations. They couldn't counter my comment because they knew what I said was demonstrably true and they were in fact posting reams of nonsense. Can't let your followers be prodded in to intellectual scrutiny of what they read.
